How to make the Ronto Wraps from Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge.
Although Ronto Wraps can usually only be found at Ronto Roasters in Galaxy’s Edge or in games like Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy's Edge, we’ve got the recipe for you to make them at home. This dish consists of roasted pork, grilled pork sausage, peppercorn sauce, and a tangy slaw wrapped in pita bread.
Ronto Wraps
Recipe by The Unofficial Disney Parks Cookbook
Yields 6 wraps
Ingredients:
Peppercorn sauce (can be substituted with tzatziki sauce)
1 medium English cucumber (peeled and grated)
1 teaspoon salt
2 cups plain Greek yogurt
Juice from ½ a large lemon
4 cloves of minced garlic
1 teaspoon dill weed
1 teaspoon chopped fresh mint
2 teaspoons cracked black peppercorns
Slaw
3 cups of coleslaw mix
Or 1 cup red cabbage strips, ½ cup sliced carrots, 1 cup green cabbage strips, ½ cup sliced red onion
3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
1 tablespoon olive oil
2 teaspoons dried basil
2 teaspoons sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
Wraps
6 thin-cut pork chops (2.5 oz)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
6 pork sausages
6 pieces of pita bread
Instructions:
Make the Peppercorn Sauce
Put cucumber in a medium bowl and sprinkle with salt.
Let sit for 10 minutes, then place in a paper towel or cloth and squeeze all the liquid out.
In a large bowl, whisk to combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, mint, garlic, dill, and peppercorns.
Add the cucumber to the large bowl and mix together.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Make the Slaw
Add coleslaw mix to a medium bowl (or combine the sliced cabbage, carrots, and onions in the bowl).
In another bowl, mix together the apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, olive oil, basil, sugar, salt, and pepper.
Pour the sauce mixture over the coleslaw mix and stir until combined.
Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.
Make the Wraps
Preheat grill or cast iron pan to medium heat.
Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
Grill pork chops for 4 minutes on each side.
Set pork chops aside and cook the sausages until they are hot and cooked through (about 8 minutes).
Set sausages aside and grill each piece of pita bread until toasty (about 2 minutes).
Assemble the wrap by placing 1 pork chop, 1 sausage, and some slaw on each piece of pita bread. Top with peppercorn sauce and fold in half like a taco.
Takeaway:
This can be a time-consuming recipe if you want to make everything from scratch, but there are ways to make it quicker! For example, you can use store-bought coleslaw mix (like we did) instead of slicing your own veggies. You can also use premade tzatziki sauce instead of the peppercorn sauce and fully cooked sausages that you can just heat up instead of cooking raw sausages.
Overall, this recipe was delicious and very filling because of the two varieties of pork in the wrap. If you have any leftovers, you can refrigerate the assembled Ronto Wraps for a few days. It may be a good idea to keep the tzatziki sauce separate from the assembled wraps so that it doesn’t make the pita bread soggy in the fridge.
