Is Oga’s Cantina Worth it for Non-Star Wars Fans?
Never seen a Star Wars movie? No need! The Cantina is fun for all.
Going to Disney World is all about immersion and storytelling, right? Well, what happens when you don’t understand the immersion because you’ve never seen a particular movie? Take Oga’s Cantina, for example. The bar in Galaxy’s Edge is the place for Star Wars fans to live out their fantasy of drinking on Batuu, but what about the people who have never seen Star Wars or who just don’t care for it? Should you still go to Oga’s Cantina even as a non-Star Wars fan?
It’s no secret, I’m clueless when it comes to Star Wars (if you don’t know what I’m talking about, check out my first-timer review of A New Hope). However, even though I don’t know anything about Star Wars or Galaxy’s Edge, I still loved visiting Oga’s Cantina.
So, is it worth it? Absolutely.
I went to Oga’s Cantina in Hollywood Studios during my last trip to Disney World and it was a great experience. Sure, I didn’t know what the drinks were referring to or even understand the decor of the bar, but I still felt immersed.
When you enter Oga’s Cantina it feels futuristic and spacey. DJ R-3X’s playlist is fun and the vibe is really cool. Even if you’re not geeking out over everything, you can still understand why other people are.
Of course, the most important reason you’re going to Oga’s Cantina as a non-Star Wars fan is the drinks. Looking at the menu, you can just tell these are drinks you would only get in Disney World. The names are all Star Wars themed, but the ingredients are where it gets exciting for anyone (over the age of 21 of course). Where else can you find a drink that has Buzz Button foam that makes your mouth tingle? Or a fizzing drink that’s shrouded in dry ice?

Overall, Oga’s Cantina is a great place to be an adult at Disney. After a day at the parks, it’s so fun to head to the bar and just hang out for the 45 minutes that you’re allotted. The drinks are great, the vibes are fun, and sometimes it just feels awesome to drink a slightly overpriced cocktail while you’re on vacation. Treat yourself, you know.
As a certified non-Star Wars expert, I say Oga’s Cantina is a must-do while in Hollywood Studios — plus, your Star Wars loving friends will be so happy they don’t have to drag you kicking and screaming.
