Recipe: Kalabar’s Revenge Cocktail

Halloweentown may be one of the best movies to ever come out of Disney Channel. Halloweentown II: Kalabar’s Revenge was no different and definitely did not disappoint. This drink is inspired by Kal’s evil plot to turn all humans into the creatures they mock on Halloween. Specifically, this moment:
Kalabar’s Revenge Cocktail
Yields 1 serving
Ingredients:
5 ounces Stella Rosa Black wine
2.5 ounces Cran-grape juice
1 ounce Chambord per serving
Mountain Dew Voltage, to top
Ice
Instructions:
Combine the Stella Rosa Black, Cran-grape juice, and Chambord in a glass or pitcher, depending on the quantity of servings.
Add ice.
Top with Mountain Dew Voltage.
Takeaway:
I originally intended to make this a layered drink, but it’s quite tricky to keep the voltage as a separate layer on top. I found that crushed ice helped create this effect best. This drink was sweet and refreshing with notes of blackberry, raspberry, grape and cranberry. While that does sound like quite the mixture, it blended deliciously and I will be making it again.
