Organizing Halloween costumes can be difficult. You may be going solo, with your boo, a group, or coordinating a theme for the fam. So we created the ultimate guide for trendy and creative Disney Costume ideas for Halloween 2022.
We Don’t Talk About Bruno (Encanto)
Encanto came out in November of 2021, so this is the first year you can dress up as the Family Madrigal!
For an Individual
Pick your favorite Madrigal family member! Bruno would be a good choice to be talked about (or not).
For a Duo
Cosplay as Pepa and Félix with her gold star earrings and hair scarf, and his brown pants. And because it was their wedding day, you could add a veil, ruffle collar, and white shirt, for a different variation of the pair.
For a Family/Group
Dress up like as many members of the Madrigal fam as your family or group has. This could be Mirabel, Isabela, Luisa, Augustín, and Julieta, or Dolores, Camilo, Antonio (Pepa and Felix), or all of them together!
This is also an easy one to do for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party as you can just take a color for each character and add a defining accessory — like Mirabel’s glasses.
When You Wish Upon A Star (Pinocchio)
With the recent release of Pinocchio on Disney+, this costume theme has become super relevant again and there’s lots of options out there for different budgets.
For an Individual
Obviously, Tom Hanks was the star of this film, so a Geppetto-inspired costume makes the most sense. Add some hair accessories, socks, and a buckle to an otherwise DIY costume to really get the vibe.
For a Duo
I mean, we can’t think of a better pairing than the wooden boy and his cricket conscience. Top Hat, boy tie, quips, and all.
For a Family/Group
You could add in the Blue Fairy or go the unique route and use Figaro (Black Cat), Monstro (Whale), and/or Pleasure Island Donkeys with black or gray t-shirts.
I’m Not Your Failure, Obi-Wan (Obi-Wan Kenobi)
The Disney+ series, Obi-Wan Kenobi, sent us prequel lovers into a frenzy and introduced surprise characters, like Young Leia, which should totally be a top Halloween costume this year.
For an Individual
The show’s namesake is a given here. A blue tunic, belt, and gray poncho or scarf will help capture the look of “Ben.”
For a Duo
All you need for Young Leia is a green poncho and a maroon shirt and wings for Lola. Super easy look for these bffs.
For a Family/Group
Add in Young Luke and Darth Vader for some extra intensity to the group or go with this gray shacket for Uncle Owen and gray cardigan for Aunt Beru.
I’m a Gross Red Monster! (Turning Red)
This film came out in March of 2022, and costumes for the characters can be made out of regular clothing items in distinct colors for more of a Disney bound vibe. You can also reuse the individual items in your day to day so it doesn’t contribute to fashion waste!
For an Individual
A Meilin Lee costume can be made with a cardigan, blue skirt, and dark pink leggings. Don’t forget the glasses too!
For a Duo
Do the two sides of Meilin and add in Red Panda accessories and t-shirt!
For a Family/Group
Luckily Turning Red has an abundance of pre-teens to cosplay as. For Miriam, all you need is green corduroy pants, a green beanie, and a green flannel. For Abby, you can get a pair of purple overalls and a purple turtleneck. For Priya, you’ll need a pair of cargo pants, rugby shirt, and glasses.
