Fa-boo-lous Fits: Disney Halloween Costumes

Updated: Oct 20, 2023

Five underrated costumes for Disney Boos & Crews.

Dressing up for Halloween as an adult can either mean putting together something quick and easy, or bringing out full cosplay. No matter which camp you fall into, it can be difficult to find unconventional Disney costumes. So here are five unique pairings for you and your boo or crew to try this Halloween.

Our Greatest Adventure

For Boo: We’ve seen the older versions of the beloved Carl and Ellie Fredrickson, but executing their younger selves is even easier. No baby powder or wigs needed! Just grab a sweater vest, pair of overalls, and an aviator hat, and you’ll be ready for a trip to Paradise Falls.

For Crew: Add in Doug in the cone of shame, Russell earning his Wilderness Explorer badge, and Kevin (with a chocolate bar of course).

Ghost Host

For Crew: A play on the “dead bride” could include any of the four portraits in the stretching room, Madame Leota, or the three Hitchhiking Ghosts from the Haunted Mansion. You can also likely thrift some of the elements of the costume to really make it your own.

For Boo: We’d recommend going as our homegirl, Constance Hatchaway, and one of her many husbands. There are dozens of Victorian Ghost Bride and Groom costumes available at Halloween stores, so all you need to do is make final arrangements.

Anita Darling, My Darling

For Boo: With the release of the live-action Cruella, we know there will be many takes on the younger Miss de Vil this Halloween. But a Disney couple that is not often thought of is Roger and Anita from 101 Dalmatians. It’s super simple to do too! Just grab a dress shirt, pencil skirt, and maid’s apron for Anita, and a dress shirt, pair of pants, and sweater vest for Roger. No Dalmatian coats necessary.

For Crew: Want more pals to “make a statement?” Add in Pongo and Perdita, Nanny, Horace and Jasper, and even the Cruella we’ve come to love.

Anyone Can Cook

For Boo: Linguini and Collette are another one of those couples that are often overlooked, but with chef’s outfits, a wig, and some kitchen utensils, it’s a nice last-minute option. Plus, with the opening of Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure in Walt Disney World, it’s also a timely ensemble.

For Crew: An effortless addition would be to get a couple of friends in some mouse ears and grey t-shirts to portray Remy, Emile, and Django. Add in Chef Skinner or Ego, and you’ll be good to go.

So Long, Partner

For Crew: A spin on our favorite group of toys would be to focus on the newest characters from Toy Story 4: Forky, Gabby Gabby, Benson, Duke Caboom, and Ducky/Bunny. Forky and Duke can easily be made with some craft supplies and a white t-shirt and tablecloth.

For Boo: To easily modify for a couple, dress as Woody and Bo Peep. Plenty of Sheriff Woody costumes are out there, along with Bo Peep, but it’s unexpected as Woody is typically paired with Buzz Lightyear or Jessie.

So there you have some fun spins on common Disney costumes that will satisfy your inner Disney super fan while impressing those around you with your creativity.
