Drink Recipe: Oga’s Cantina’s Jedi Mind Trick

Updated: Sep 18, 2022

Make your favorite Cantina cocktails at home!

Oga’s Cantina, located in Galaxy’s Edge, is a fun experience even for a non-Star Wars fan like myself. The drinks are delicious and DJ R-3x’s entertainment is out of this world.

The Cantina offers a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, including the Jedi Mind Trick. This is one of the stronger drinks offered at the Cantina and contains Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose vodka, blue Curaçao and velvet falernum, which is a liqueur spiced with clove, lime, ginger and almond. For this review, I used This Fairy Tale Life’s recipe for the Jedi Mind Trick, but the site has recipes for other Cantina drinks too.

Jedi Mind Trick

Recipe makes one cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 1 shot Ketel One Grapefruit and Rose vodka

  • 1 shot blue Curaçao (or triple sec and blue food dye)

  • ¼ cup white grape juice

Instructions:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake.

  2. Strain into a glass with ice.

Takeaway:

First off, when making this recipe I used Deep Eddy’s Ruby Red grapefruit vodka because I didn’t think it would make that much of a difference. I was wrong. The grapefruit flavor came through stronger than if I would have used the rose and grapefruit vodka. Also, this recipe didn’t contain the velvet falernum, which they use in the parks. I think this would have changed the flavor of the drink and made it a lot better. If you're not a fan of grape juice, don’t use the full ¼ cup. I would recommend a 1:1:1 ratio instead. Overall, I think this recipe needs to be tweaked to your preference because you’re experimenting with a lot of flavors.
