How to make the Muffuletta Salad from Tiana’s Palace at home.
The Muffuletta Salad from Tiana’s Palace at Disneyland is a fresh take on the popular muffuletta sandwich. It features the same meats, cheeses, and olive relish over a refreshing bed of romaine and basil.

Muffuletta Salad
Yields 1 serving
Ingredients:
Olive Relish
¾ cup pimento-stuffed green olives
¼ cup pitted kalamata olives
¼ cup jarred Italian giardiniera
2 large pepperoncini
3-4 cocktail onions
2 tablespoons capers
1 clove of garlic, chopped
1 teaspoon oregano
¼ teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoon lemon juice
2 teaspoon olive oil
Salad
Romaine lettuce
Mortadella, chopped
Salami, chopped
Rosemary ham, chopped
Aged white cheddar, chopped or shredded
Croutons
Fresh basil
Instructions:
Olive Relish
Drain the olives, giardiniera, pepperoncini, onions, and capers.
Add all of the ingredients to a food processor or blender and pulse until coarsely chopped.
Transfer to an airtight container, like a jar or Tupperware, and refrigerate until ready to use, ideally for 12 hours for the flavors to meld together.
Salad
Start by chopping up your meats into small pieces, and either shred or chop up your cheese.
Add your desired amount of romaine lettuce to a bowl. Top with some fresh basil.
Add in the meats, cheese, and croutons, then toss until mixed well.
Add some of the olive relish as your dressing and enjoy!
Review:
The muffuletta salad was basically just a deconstructed muffuletta sandwich, plus the addition of the greens. It was a great way to get all the flavors of the sandwich without it being heavy. The romaine brought a nice freshness to the plate, and there was a good variety of textures with the meat, cheese, and croutons. You can adjust the amount of olive relish you add depending on your preferences. I would recommend starting with a little bit and then adding more, if needed, since it can be kind of overpowering if you add too much.
