The new spin-off of WandaVision follows witch Agatha Harkness (Kathryn Hahn) after Wanda Maximoff stripped her of her powers and left her stranded in Westview.

Agatha All Along’s first two episodes premiere on Disney+ on September 18 at 9 p.m. EST — here’s everything you need to know about the series before you start watching.

Who Is Agatha Harkness?

Agatha Harkness is a powerful witch hailing from a coven in Salem. During the Salem Witch Trials, it was determined that Agatha was practicing dark magic, and her coven tried to kill her — however, she struck back and killed them instead.

Agatha was introduced in WandaVision as Agnes, the nosy next-door neighbor who befriends Wanda. However, through a very catchy song — also entitled “Agatha All Along” — we learn that Agatha had been controlling Westview alongside Wanda. Agatha was responsible for killing the family dog Sparky and sending Wanda’s brother Pietro to watch over the family.

It’s learned that Agatha was trying to take control of Wanda’s “chaos magic” by unleashing the Scarlet Witch. However, Agatha was no match for the Scarlet Witch, who eventually rendered her powerless and trapped her in Westview as her sitcom character.

What Are Agatha Harkness’ Powers?

At the time of Agatha All Along, Agatha is powerless. However, before Wanda took her powers — and the Darkhold, which was Agatha’s book of spells — she was an incredibly powerful witch.

Previously, Agatha was able to manipulate energy and move matter with her mind. She was also able to levitate and teleport. Additionally, she could control minds.

“She took every bit of power I had, but I can be that witch again,” Agatha says in the trailer.

What Is Agatha All Along About?

Disney has only released one trailer for the new Marvel series — and is tight-lipped as usual. However, we do know that Agatha All Along follows Agatha after Wanda traps her in Westview. A “goth teen,” seemingly played by Joe Locke, breaks her out and brings her to “Witches’ Road” where they attempt to create their own coven. The Road will reward a witch with “what they’re missing” after a series of trials — which, likely means, Agatha is looking to get her powers back.

The confirmed cast includes Hahn, Locke, Patti Lupone, Aubrey Plaza, Maria Dizzia, Paul Adelstein, Sasheer Zamata, Ali Ahn, Miles Gutierrez-Riley, and Okwui Okpokwasili — and is created by WandaVision showrunner Jac Schaeffer and Marvel favorite Kevin Feige.

Is There Anything Else I Need To Know About Before Watching Agatha All Along?

You should probably watch WandaVision before Agatha All Along premieres to get Agatha’s full backstory. While you likely shouldn’t need to know more beyond WandaVision, for clarity, in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness Wanda fully becomes the Scarlet Witch thanks to the Darkhold. She attempts to reunite herself with her Westview children, Billy and Tommy, using the multiverse; however, Doctor Strange effectively stops her.

It’s presumed that Wanda is dead — and her dead body might even be the one seen in Agatha All Along’s trailer.
